The State Revenue Service (SRS) pays tribute to 17 companies - Latvia's largest honest taxpayers. This year, the traditional SRS award is dedicated to the largest labour tax payers, highlighting sustainable and responsible business practice for a prosperous, strong, and safe Latvia.
“Labour taxes are one of the foundations of a sustainable Latvia and indicator of a mature business. It is a guarantee of human safety and mutual responsibility for times when an employee will need support when a child is born, health deteriorates, or temporary unemployment occurs; it is also an investment in their retirement. Additionally, it is solidarity with those who have not been able to pay this tax due to health, age, or other reasons. We would like to thank and highlight those companies that appreciate this and are aware that it is an investment in the well-being and stability of their employees and all of Latvia,” says SRS General Director Ieva Jaunzeme.
This year, a total of 15 awards will be presented to the largest labour tax payers in the five regions of Latvia in three categories – large, medium, and small companies. Two additional thematic special awards will also be presented.
One of the special awards for the largest labour tax payer is presented to a company that, like SRS, was founded in 1993 and celebrates its thirtieth birthday this year, having grown and developed together with its country. The second special award was given to the company that made the largest tax payments in 2022 in general, not only in terms of labour taxes.
SRS has recognised Latvia's largest, honest taxpayers for the last 25 years. As recognition and gratitude for responsible work, the companies will also receive the traditional award made especially for this year, a visual representation of internal growth and life. The tree silhouette depicted in the award is chosen as a symbol of successful business and sustainable economy, which denotes the path from the emergence of a new business idea to its successful implementation and development, contributing to the national economy and well-being.
